Opal Base is a camouflaging base for covering and leveling nails.

Properties:

  • Mildly acidic with a pH of 5-6.

  • Elastic and flexible.

  • Provides high coverage of the natural nail due to high pigmentation.

  • May show minimal shrinkage over the wear period due to its elasticity.

  • Medium consistency.

  • Provides a hold of 3-4 weeks without lifting.

  • Has a neutral odor.

  • Hypoallergenic.

  • Can be easily removed either by filing or with liquid.

  • Does not run and self-levels quickly.

  • Requires a base coat of LUNAmoon Rubber Base.

  • Not suitable for leveling long nails without prior reinforcement.

  • Drying time under the lamp – 120 seconds.

  • The lamp power for drying should be 36-48 W (must be an original lamp).

  • Important rule when leveling: The thickness at the nail tip should be 0.5 mm.

  • Thixotropic: Becomes more fluid when moving the brush during application.

Application:

  1. Removal.

  2. Do not file the nail shape, or leave 2 mm in length that will be removed after leveling.

  3. File the nail with a 180-240 grit file without heavy pressure to lift the nail scales, or use a 100 grit buffer.

  4. Perform a manicure.

  5. If using removers, wash hands thoroughly with soap after use.

  6. Degrease the nail with Nail Prep. Perform two passes. Use 4 wipes for this (1 wipe for 5 fingers). First pass: Wipe the nail surface. Second pass: Take an orange wood stick, place a wipe on it, and wipe everything in the cuticle area and grooves.

  7. Use primer as desired, but if the base for the undercoat is sufficiently acidic, this is not necessary.

  8. Apply LUNAmoon Rubber Base, preferably with a flat gel brush. Use massaging movements. Trace all grooves of the nail and cure for 60 seconds under the lamp.

  9. Remove the sticky layer.

  10. Level with LUNAmoon Opal Base. Cure for 90 seconds under the lamp.

  11. After leveling, file the shape. This is necessary to ensure a thickness at the nail tip that supports the free edge.

  12. Remove the sticky layer.

  13. Cover with a top coat. Cure for 120 seconds under the lamp. Do not wipe with anything after drying, as the shine might be lost.
